Apple Kombucha

Simple and delicious. An apple juice for those with a taste for fermented drinks. Apple-y and as sweet as you want, with a little tangy kick. One of my favourite ways to make kombucha.

Recipe:

1 batch of basic kombucha (follow my recipe here)
1 apple
1 large mason jar

Make kombucha as per my recipe. Once your kombucha has completed it's first ferment and has reached your desired level of sweetness, you can add the apple (or whatever other flavourings you like). Peel and core your apple, and add it to a jar with your kombucha, sealing the jar with a lid. I like to use ambrosia because of its sweet and light flavour. Leave the kombucha to sit for 2-3 days to allow to become carbonated. Resist the temptation to open it and check. If it isn't carbonated enough, leave for a few more days and check again. Spoon out the apple with a slotted spoon and compost. Drink and enjoy!
